  • Dodgeball Dating Fashion Suggestions

Did anyone know that Figleaves did sports wear too? I thought they were just an underwear online shop but they've got some great gym stuff. OK, I've narrowed down to the following few items whilst searching last night. Torn between the slimming black and the quite cool mocha. There's a skirt in there but I'm thinking that might be a tad OTT! Or is it all too boring, shall I go colourful? I'm thinking dark colours to look slimmer and not accentuate the red face I'll probably get from either being unfit or embarrassed! Any guys out there care to offer their thoughts?! 3 days to go until Dodgeball Dating, soooo nervous.

  • Dodeball Dating Wardrobe Crisis...

The only problem with the brilliance of Dodgeball Dating is that I am extremely stressed about what to wear.

Normal dating events would be easy - some kind of sexy but non suggestive number and killer hills. Dodgeball Dating - baggy t-shirt and smelly trainers? Surely that's no way to find a date.

So I've been to Nike Town but it seems sports wear is complicated these days - entirely overwhelmed by the array of colours, materials, bizarre US sizes etc.

So I've decided to do a bit of research on the internet tonight and come back tomorrow with some outfit suggestions that hopefully my friends can give me their comments on. ahhhhhhhh.

  • Dodgeball Dating...

I am so so excited today - late last night I stumbled across a Dodgeball Dating event on the internet. It's happening next week, and I've signed up! Apparently you go along get taught how to play Dodgeball with a bunch of other sporty singles - then have a few drinks in the bar afterwards. Can you believe it someone has actually come up with the idea of turning Dodgeball into some kind of singles event.

It seems it's the first event of its kind so I'll be right there from the start. You never know I may even meet the man of my dreams...

If anyone else fancies joining me I entered via:

  • The first team member

Great news...I've meet a fellow frustrated Dodgeballer who wants to help set up my team. We meet on Friday at a friends birthday dinner. It seems bizarre that we were both there - the person whose birthday it was is the most unsporty person you could probably ever meet. In fact I don't think she has so much as played a game of rounders.

We've agreed to catch-up this Friday and discuss ideas about how to recruit the rest of the team. Any thoughts very very welcome...

  • Approaching the Pros

Since my first post yesterday I've done a bit of digging and found out that there is in fact a UK Dodgeball Association. They apparently regulate the game here - making sure everyone plays to the same rules and setting up tournaments. Association gives the impression that they're a great big organisation but by the looks of things they're quite new.

I've emailed them my idea to create an all female Dodgeball tournament - haven't heard back from them yet. Their website (www.ukda.org) looks very professional - not sure how they would feel about a tournament inspired by the film...

  • Single Female Seeks Dodgeball Fans...

I'm very excited to be posting the first ever message on my blog. A friend suggested that I set this up in the hope of meeting some other people that share my passion...DODGEBALL!

After watching the film Dodgeball (possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen) and then watching it again and again and again, I couldn't wait to join a team and get started. But it turns out hardly anyone in the UK plays.

Now I know I'm not the only person that's been inspired by one of the most hilarious films ever made and I know there are plenty of people out there who are interested in Dodgeball, want to set up a team or just chat about the film. I hope my blog will help Dodgeball fans come together.

In the meantime I'll be keeping you posted about my quest to set up the first all female Dodgeball Tournament.

If you're going to become true dodgeballers, then you've got to learn the five d's of dodgeball: dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!
